After the successes of the EDBF European Dragon Boat Championships in Prague 2006 Czech Dragon Boat Association is organizing another major international championship.

We are sure that the 2009 World Dragon Boat Race Championships at Prague and Racice will be an unforgettable experience for all participants and we will be happy to show dragon boat sport to all spectators and guests on the highest level.

Račice Town

  • The town of Račice was established in 1295
    by King Václav II. Until 1960 it was a part of
    the town of Štětí and from 1989 it has been
    a separate legal entity. In 1980 sand quarrying
    commenced in Račice and in 1986 the rowing
    course was opened for the
    World Rowing Junior Championships.
  • Račice is located 158 m above sea level,
    8km north of the town of Roudnice n/L.,
    which is at the 50 km exit of the D8 motorway
    in the direction Prague–Teplice.

About the Course

The Paddling Course

  • The Račice Rowing Course Centre was
    developed from a former sand pit and
    was completed in 1986. The total length
    of the water channel is 2350 meters and
    the width of the main channel is 130 meters.
    The main course has 8 lanes using the
    Albana system. At the Rowing Course
    Centre there is a restaurant, finish towers,
    boathouse, changing facilities,
    showers and toilets for competitors.

    Račice is situated 12 km
    from the D8 Prague to Teplice
    motorway close to exit
    no. 29 Roudnice n/L. 
  • By Air
    Prague-Ruzyně International Airport
    is 67 km by road from Račice. 
  • By Rail
    Hněvice is a regional railway station
    2km from Račice and
    on the Prague-Děčín main line.

The venue offers following:

  • Hotel Skif offers accommodation in 25 twin rooms
    each with en-suite bathroom and TV and satelite.
    Secure parking for its residents is situated at the front of the hotel.
  • Dependence Hotel Skif
    This accommodation is situated in the administrative building
    about 50 m from the Hotel Skif. The rooms are triple and
    quad each having en-suite bathroom and TV and satelite.
  • Dormitory Accommodation
    The dormitories are situated directly by the race course.
    The accommodation is basic with communal lavatory and washing facilities.
  • Chalet Accommodation
    This is suitable for families with young children ( 2 adults + 2 children).
    Accommodation includes a small kitchen, shower and WC.
  • Caravan and Camp site
    A caravan camp site is situated next to the dormitories.
  • There will be professional accommodation services according to the orders.
